Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of Type It, the macOS menu bar app. By downloading or using it, you agree to what's below. We've kept it plain and short.
01 Your license
When you upgrade to Pro — subscription or lifetime — we grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to use Type It under these conditions:
- For your own personal use.
- On up to 3 Macs that you own or control.
Lifetime plan: a one-time payment grants a perpetual license valid for the major version you purchased — including all minor updates to that version at no extra cost. A future major version may be offered as a separate upgrade; your existing license keeps working for the version it was bought for.
Subscription plan: billed annually, your license stays active — including all updates, major and minor — for as long as the subscription is active. Cancel anytime from the "Manage subscription" link in the app; access continues until the end of the period you already paid for, then the license reverts to the Free plan.
02 Free plan and the 14-day trial
Type It has a Free plan you can use for as long as you like. New installs also get a 14-day trial with every Pro feature unlocked — no credit card, no account.
When the trial ends, Type It simply degrades to the Free plan. The appnever locks you out — your notes and your work stay accessible. You can upgrade to Pro whenever you choose.
03 Acceptable use
To keep things fair, please don't:
- Share, resell or redistribute your license key.
- Reverse-engineer, circumvent or tamper with thelicensing system.
- Use Type It in a way that breaks applicable law.
Beyond the licensing system, Type It is your tool — use it however you like for your own work.
04 Purchases and refunds
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as our Merchant of Record — the legal seller of the transaction. Your purchase is also subject to Dodo Payments' buyer terms. Type It comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee; see ourRefund Policy for how it works.
05 Software provided “as is”
Type It is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use the software at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Type It. Nothing here limits rights you may have that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.
06 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
